According to § 42a of the German Weapons Act, carrying the following items in Germany is prohibited: cutting and thrusting weapons, locking knives with a one-handed opening mechanism (one-hand knives), fixed-blade knives with a blade length of over 12 cm. However, these items may be carried on your person in cases of legitimate interest. "Legitimate interest" particularly applies if you use the items in connection with your profession, in the practice of traditional customs, in sport or for a widely accepted purpose.
