What do film star Steve McQueen, Salt Flats record-holding icon Burt Munro and stunt legend Evel Knievel have in common? Correct: when they were on the road, they wore Bell helmets. Founded in 1954 in California, the business quickly made a name for itself in the world of motor sport. During the 70s, the time of the great motorbike boom, Bell was seen as the best around when it came to head protection – anyone who was anyone was wearing Bell. So it’s only natural that Bell has resurrected the classic helmet models – modernised in terms of protection, but otherwise exactly as they were then. So there are no retro design helmets here – they are the originals.
